gt.com: it's obvious you guys aren't a boy
band, yet in recent interviews, the comparisons fly. does it annoy you to be stuck in that
category?
EVAN: No, not at all -- everyone makes mistakes, we
don't take it personally!
gt.com: from twin-to-twin -- do you guys always agree on how your career
should go? with that...what is the most annoying "twin question" you get asked?
(ours is the classic "have you ever switched classes?")
EVAN: We pretty much agree on all our decisions.
Whoever is more passionate about their point of view wins. Yeah, the switched classes
thing is bad, huh? How about, "Can you feel each other's pain?"
gt.com: yeah, that one is pretty
painful! now, you guys are no flash-in-the-pan. you've actually been working on albums for
nearly ten years. tell me about that?
EVAN: Not much to say, other than we've been working
our butts off doing what we love -- making music. What else could we ask for? We didn't
wait for a big record company to come and help us out. We put our first two records out on
our own record company. We really have always felt that this is what we wanted to do, and
therefore have not let anything get in the way.
gt.com: what do you think about
the whole issue of Napster? does it bother you that people download some of your songs?
EVAN: I think the concept of Napster is brilliant. I
respect and understand both sides.
gt.com: have you ever
used Napster?
EVAN: I have actually never used Napster, because I
can't stand sites that make you "sign up" before you can use their
stuff. I'm too lazy to take the time!
gt.com: gotta ask...are you
addicted to the reality show Survivor? if you were a castaway, what would be your one
luxury item to bring on the island?
EVAN:
I never watch TV, unless there's something really important like the final game of the
World Series, or an old re-run of Welcome Back Kotter or something like that. I have never
seen Survivor or Temptation whatever. If I were a castaway, I would like to have my cell
phone, and more importantly, good cell service!
