people would be shocked to learn that...Christian confesses about the tune he
hums when he suds up, "I sing Willie Nelson in the shower." As he breaks into a
chorus of a famous Nelson number, his vocal abilities are proven past pop. Speaking of the
shower..."People don't know that I use body wash instead of bars of soap. Did you
know that?" How random!
if i could
interview one celebrity on FANatic, it would be...Christian was quick to announce his choice for The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. I'd like to sit down at this point in my
career or at any point in my life and interview him," he shares.
the magazine i read
cover-to-cover is...When asked this question, Christian new his answer immediately: "Low Rider -- I [used to have] a truck with a $4,000 stereo system in it, all lowered
out, rims on it...it was really nice." Vroom!
the most memorable part of
my career so far has been..."This interview," he responds with a 100-watt smile. "It's
actually fun. I haven't had this much variety and thought in an interview before. I've had
people interview me that go, 'Okay, give me a question! I'm like, hold up -- you're
interviewing me," he laughs. Aww...good answer!
my all-time favorite movie
would have to be...He may have hopes of becoming the king of pop, but when it came to the big
screen, his choice was with the king of the jungle. "Definitely Tarzan,"
he admits.
you
know you're famous when..."You go quadruple platinum," he predicts. Wonder if CD, (as his
friends call him), views that in his own future?

ballads or up-tempos? In response to which style of singing he prefers, Christian answers, "I
think they're equally fun. Depending on the setting, I like to sing both." Judging
from his forthcoming album to be released this summer, it looks like that his balance of
the two types is equally pleasing.
mandy moore or jessica
simpson? He'll love his choice forever:
"Jessica Simpson, simply because she's got an awesome voice." Do we hear another
duet for Ms. Simpson? "I'd love that," he exclaims.
blondes or brunettes? Christian turns his answer into an "inspirational"
quote: "Never limit yourself!" He continues, jokingly, "I like them all, as
long as they are female -- I don't care what color hair, as long as it's real!" He
later confessed that blondes often put him in a tizzy.
in the studio or live
performance? "Definitely live performance,"
he explains. "The crowd gets me hyped! You can jump around and people actually see
you. I jump around the studio and no one sees me!"
mtv or vh1? Christian decided to put his vote to the main music source:
"MTV -- it's definitely more down with what our generation does...having fun,
chaos, beach parties, etc." Does Christian hit the sand often himself? "I'm a
Florida guy, so definitely."
e-mail or snail mail? "Probably snail mail -- it's more
confidential," he says. "Especially when [a fan] writes a letter, puts a
picture in it, and takes the time to go to the post office; that means that they admire
you more than someone that just types and presses Send."

i used to watch the mickey mouse club. Believe it or not, there's a popster who didn't grow up on the well-known Disney half hour. That doesn't mean Christian didn't tune into it:
"I watched that and Kids Incorporated! Remember that? That was the bomb!"
i talk loudly in my
sleep. Before he answers, he turns to his best friend.
Getting a nod of agreement, he responds, "True! One night, I woke up screaming
something about a girl riding a skateboard. We'd just gotten a new video game [about
skateboarding]. We were playing that, and I went to sleep afterward. I woke up yelling
You're going too fast! Slow down on the skateboard.'" He laughs, "It was
crazy!"
my mom constantly brags
about me. He spoke this as the truth. "Definitely --
she's a school teacher, and there are posters of me all over her classroom. She brags to
everyone about me!" With good reason, we have to admit.
i secretly would love to
have my own television show. This was a false statement for him.
"I wouldn't want my own television show," he says. "I'd much rather focus
on my vocals." Christian will be seen on cable, though, on June 2, 2000,
when he makes his debut appearance as a musical guest on Jenny Jones.
i'd rather have started
out in an all-male group. Somewhat half-sided on this reply, Christian finally decided it's a no-go.
"I can express my creativity on the stage at any given point, since I'm a solo
artist. If I make the routines, and I'm the only one doing those routines, then I can
change them at anytime."
i'm an internet junkie. Christian admits that he's not one
to be logged on too often, but it's not because of lack of WWW knowledge. "I've been so
busy with touring and everything that I haven't stopped to get on a computer."
It may please Christian to be seen as an
inspiration to his onlookers, but his own admiration lies within his family roots.
"My father has been so influential in my career," he shares. "He's a
musician, producer, songwriter, movie director, and he's definitely established family
goals. He's added his home and business input into my whole relationship and career. All
around, he's been there for me." Looks like this music master has a definite path to
follow and his family will be supporting him every step of the way, (mom's classroom
promotion surely helps).
Although Christian listens to a variety of music, ("I like a lot
of pop, R&B, rap, and older tunes," he explains), he makes sure to put in his own
CD every so often. "I do listen to my music offstage a lot, but the main reason is to
better my next album, concert, or whatever I'm preparing for." That and the fact that
for the next couple of months, he plans to concentrate on creating his career -- one which
may be long lasting if he continues to operate the way he has been.
If
you've grown a sudden and deepened likening for the Jacksonville-raised pop
"Angel," you're not alone. Fan pages have already sprouted up for Christian, and
it looks like it's the beginning of a beautiful thing. If you're eager for his debut
album, take heed in knowing that in this case, you won't have to wait until the cows come
home.
